Add an M3U playlist
How to add an M3U or M3U8 playlist to Watch More on iPhone, iPad and Android, from a URL or a file, with an XMLTV TV guide.
Before you start
You need a playlist you have the right to use: a link that ends in .m3u or .m3u8, or a playlist file saved on your device. Your TV provider, your own TV server or your antenna tuner can supply one. Watch More does not provide playlists.
Add a playlist from a URL
- Open Settings › Manage Sources and tap Add Source. On first launch the setup screen shows the same form.
- Set Source Type to M3U URL.
- Give it a Source Name you will recognise, then paste the address into Playlist URL.
- If your provider gave you a guide link, paste it into EPG URL (optional). Many playlists name their guide themselves, and Watch More picks that up automatically.
- Tap Continue. Watch More tests the connection, then imports in the background, so you can start browsing straight away.
Add a playlist file
- In Add Source, set Source Type to Local Playlist.
- Tap Choose Playlist File… and pick the file from Files, iCloud Drive or your Android storage.
- A file does not update by itself. When your provider sends a new one, re-import it from Manage Sources.
Get the guide working
Watch More reads XMLTV guide data and matches it to your channels, so live TV shows what is on now, what is next and a full schedule. If channels show no programme information, check that the EPG URL opens in a browser and that it covers the channels in your playlist. The guide refreshes automatically about every six hours, and you can refresh by hand from Manage Sources.
Organise a long playlist
Large playlists arrive as categories. Pin the ones you use to the front, hide the rest and reorder them, so Live TV opens on what you actually watch. Channel numbers from the playlist are kept, so number entry on a TV remote works as expected.
Common problems
- "Unencrypted Connection" means the address starts with
http://. Watch More still connects if you continue, but your provider details travel unencrypted. Ask your provider for anhttps://link if they have one. - Channels buffer or stop. Playback depends on your provider's servers and your connection. Try another channel; if every channel struggles, contact the provider.
- The free tier allows one source. Replace the source, or add more with Watch More Pro.
